Consequences of a Pipeline Contact

You must obtain permission to perform work over, near or across TransGas natural gas transmission pipelines.

To do so follow this process:

  1. Contact Sask1stCall and request a locate of all buried utilities in your work area.

  2. If you have a written project plan indicating where your excavation or construction project will be relative to the TransGas pipeline, please email your request, along with your project plan to TransGas Crossing Co-ordination.

  3. In order to obtain permission, TransGas requires the following information with your request:
    • The proposed type of work.
    • A drawing of where the work will be done in proximity to the TransGas pipeline.
    • Land location including: quarter section, township, range and meridian.
    • Applicant's name, mailing address, phone number and email.
    • Owner's name, mailing address, phone number, email and fax

  4. Once all the information is obtained, TransGas will review your request for pipeline integrity and safety concerns.

  5. Applications must be approved prior to work activity. TransGas will issue an Agreement if your request has been approved.

The Agreement will stipulate any conditions required and indicate the TransGas contact person for your project. You are required to have your Agreement and your Sask1stCall ticket number with you at the work site.

A TransGas Representative must be on site at all times during construction or excavation within 10 metres of the high pressure natural gas pipeline(s).

As of July 27, 2020, TransGas is using DocuSign to collect signatures for the completion of crossing agreements. DocuSign provides a safe and easy way to supply a digital signature to TransGas.
