Potential Firm Curtailments for TransGas System – NIT to TEP and Empress to TEP Services
TransGas is notifying shippers of the possibility of curtailments to firm contracted NIT to TEP and Empress to TEP Services due to TC Energy unplanned and ongoing maintenance work in the North East Delivery Area (NEDA).
TC Energy Curtailment: Effective Gas Day February 5th, 2025 at 17:00 MST until further notice at North East Delivery Area (Cold Lake and Unity), TC Energy has cut IT Allowable to 0% and FT Allowable to 80%.
Impact to TransGas Customers: TransGas is currently able to reallocate gas flows across our various border points to abide by the NEDA curtailment and still meet TransGas customers’ NIT to TEP and Empress to TEP Service requests. However, there is the potential for impacts to NIT to TEP and Empress to TEP Firm transportation services.
Below is the estimated curtailment range based on current TC Energy FT curtailment at NEDA. Please note this curtailment estimate is subject to change. Should TC Energy implement any additional curtailments to firm service, or extend the curtailment to additional border points, this would result in NIT to TEP and Empress to TEP Services curtailed to a greater percentage of the firm contracted capacity.

Alberta Supply Interruptible service and Fuel Gas above contract will not be available during this time effective GD 7.
TransGas will continue to evaluate the situation and work to reduce customer impact where possible. TransGas will endeavor to keep customers updated and will provide proactive notice should there be changes to NIT to TEP and Empress to TEP Services.
