TransGas Limited (TransGas) has received Cabinet approval to proceed with a 2.0% average increase to rates for transportation and storage services, effective April 1, 2024. This increase was originally proposed by TransGas for an April 1, 2023 implementation, but was not approved at that time.
In late 2023, Cabinet reconsidered the rate proposal for implementation in 2024, in part because customers expressed the need for rate rebalancing. This increase will allow for continued progress in rate rebalancing across all customer classes, resulting in rate changes ranging from -1.0% to 9.0.
TransGas continues to expand its system to meet growing demand in Saskatchewan and increase natural gas imports from Alberta. Including the 2024-25 rate increase of 2.0%, annual rate increases have averaged 3.8% since 2019. TransGas remains committed to providing safe and reliable service while meeting customer expectations and minimizing rate impacts.
